Genesis Homes Partnerships
Genesis Homes cannot accomplish its mission alone. To make the impact the board and staff want to make, we work with individuals and other organizations in the community that compliment Genesis Homes’ mission to bring affordable housing to those in need in South Carolina's Upstate. The partnering individuals and organizations include:
  • First Baptist Church, Greenville. The idea that grew into Genesis Homes was planted and nurtured at FBC. In addition to our initial funding, staff and members of FBC continue to provide vision and support to Genesis Homes.

  • Homes of Hope and its executive director Don Oglesby support our efforts by providing vital guidance and assistance in securing funds.

  • City of Greenville Community Development Division provides support for our mission through funding, encouragement and guidance.

  • Upstate Homeless Coalition and its Executive Director Mike Chesser are providing property management services for our rental units.

  • Local foundations have profided financial support, including: The Jolley Foundation, John I. Smith Charities, F.W. Symmes Foundation, The Community Foundation of Greenville, Hollingsworth Funds, Inc., The Graham Foundation and the South Carolina Association of Community Development Corporations’ Community Impact Fund.

  • Hal Weiss and Lorraine Goldstein continue to encourage Genesis Homes and have provided a significant portion of our initial investment capital.

  • LS3P Neal Prince Architects has developed designs for affordable housing prototypes and has developed master plans to meet future development objectives for Genesis Homes at several sites. Neal Prince Architects has also provided technical assistance with the preparation of the architectural components included in Genesis Homes' various grant applications.

  • Kim Eskanasy of the Covenant Company supports our efforts with advice, support, grant preparation and compliance reviews.

  • Mary E. Johnson Consulting, LLC assists with grant application preparations.

  • Haynie-Sirrine Neighborhood Association provides leadership for our activities in Haynie-Sirrine and other neighborhoods in Greenville. Also, Haynie-Sirrine is the home to our first construction project on Chicora Ave. Felsie Harris, the President of the Association serves on the Genesis Homes Board of Directors.

  • The Greenline-Spartanburg Neighborhood Association is instrumental in guiding the vision of Genesis Homes as it relates to the Greenline-Spartanburg community and other neighborhoods.

  • Nicholtown Neighborhood Association is providing leadership, guidance and direction regarding our future plans.

  • Horton, Drawdy, Ward & Jenkins, P.A. provides legal services to Genesis Homes.

  • Greenville First Bank will provide financing for our future project in the Nicholtown community.

  • Wachovia Bank is providing financing for our projects in the Haynie-Sirrine neighborhood.

  • Pinnacle Bank is providing financing assistance for our projects in the Greenline-Spartanburg and Haynie-Sirrine communities.
