About Genesis Homes
Genesis Homes is a South Carolina 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation. The Corporation is lead by an executive committee and Board of Directors. The Board, which meets bi-monthly and as required to conduct the business of the Corporation, consists of influential members of the Greenville community and includes representation from the neighborhoods of current and future redevelopment plans.

Genesis Homes grew from a seed at Greenville's First Baptist Church. FBC's Minister of Community Relations, Dr. Baxter Wynn, planted that seed in fertile ground. Members of the church took the task of nurturing that idea by learning about the community's needs and how private and public resources coould be leveraged to help it grow. And with an initial grant from FBC, the Corporation organized, secured 501(c)(3) status and began the arduous certifications and fundraising processes.
